SINFULLY RICH is an evolving collection containing Rich’s other short comedies, so far including:
FOUR EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE WOMEN SITTING AROUND FANTASIZING ABOUT RICH ORLOFF – A comedy for four women and one literary libido. A hit in short play festivals around the country and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Ann Arbor News called it a “comic gem”. The Chelsea Standard wrote, “The star play of the evening. The play is even funnier than its title.” (4 w., although they don’t all need to be played by women.)
MERCURY’S IN RETROGRADE, AND YOU SUCK – The fate of the planet is in the President’s hands when he faces two squabbling and, shall we say, Mercurial emissaries from the planet Mercury. (1 human, 2 Mercurians)
I WAS FINE UNTIL YOU CAME INTO THE ROOM – A man and a woman meet in an art gallery and don’t know what to say to each other, but their conversation has ramifications that last generations. (2 m., 2 w.)
FOUR EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE WOMEN IN FOUR EXTREMELY EXOTIC LOCATIONS HAVING FOUR EXTREMELY EROTIC FANTASIES ABOUT EXTREMELY RICH ORLOFF – By popular demand, the only short play sequel Rich has ever written, with four more women having over-the-top fantasies in four different locales. A hit at New York’s Red Light Nights festival and Boomerang Theatre Company. (4 w., although they don’t all need to be played by women.)
TOUGH COOKIE – When a lawyer asks a high school student about his crime-inducing cookie, his parents crumble. nytheatre.com wrote, “Delightful comic writing. Orloff scores numerous zingers here, all the while neatly satirizing a number of contemporary mores.” (2 m., 1 w., 1 either)
AN I FOR AN I – One family deals with an old man’s stroke. The patriarch has trouble communicating. Actually, they all do. (2 m., 2 w, 1 either)
WHAT THERAPISTS SAY BEHIND YOUR BACK – A comedy about four therapists and one paranoid imagination, exposing what therapists actually say and think about their patients. (4 either)
FOUR EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE ANGELS FLOATING AROUND FANTASIZING ABOUT THE LATE RICH ORLOFF – The final play in the “extremely attractive women” trilogy puts both life and death in perspective as it sums up this SINFULLY RICH evening of comedies. (4 w., although they don’t need to be played by women.)
